    doh...the thing is to make elect.the magnets have to move...which takes energy...but research is needed on it and also tides...every day the tide comes in the tide goes out...the wind blows and the sun shines...

    Gravity is also endless energy. So why aren't we harnessing it? Think it through. Oh right, to get the energy from something falling, you must first lift it up... and that costs the same amount of energy as you gain. So it's a zero sum. Magnets are the same problem exactly.

    There is plenty of technology using magnets now. Generators, electric motors, speakers, etc. No magic there, and like all things energy-related, TANSTAAFL.
